Abstract
This demonstration project is an exploration of the possibility of establishing a sound theology for the revival movement in Korea. While the revival movement has been glorified as one of the strongest driving forces of the rapid Korean church growth last 100 years, there have been many critical views about it as well. Many critical theologians and people have worried about that many revival movement leaders have extremely conservative theological orientation. The major criticisms for the revival meeting are as follows: First, the revival meeting is aimed only for the individual salvation and church growth neglecting the Christian prophetic message and social change. Second, the revival meeting cannot catch up the speedy social change especially in regard to the sudden rise of intellectuality of Korean church members. Third, the revivalists have lacked healthy theological training therefore, they could not meet various theological demands of the church members. Fourth, the revivalists have failed to adjust themselves to the changing society in the sense that they have inculcated church members the shamanistic, ahistorical blessings.
